On Saturday, we welcomed 57 participants to come to the World Race training camp for the October trip! This is the largest World Race training camp we have had! And to make it more fun, we have thrown in a lot of new twists and changed things up quite a bit. We also have an awesome team serving alongside us to help make sure things run smoothly… they are practically all World Race Alumni!

So far things have been going really well. Everyone is excited to be here and people have really opened up to receive the teachings that have been happening. Tomorrow (Monday morning) we leave for a ‘retreat’ – basically we are going to be camping for two nights. It is a lot of fun and we really get to see a whole other side of the group, plus it is great for bonding. Right now the weather is supposed to be HOT. Although I can handle camping (after all I was on the first World Race!), I do not enjoy the fact that Georgia has tons of mosquitoes, ticks, fire ants, etc. Ticks give me the heebie-jeebies, fire ants hurt like heck and are everywhere, and really who likes mosquitoes? Otherwise I am really looking forward to it ; )

Tomorrow I also say goodbye to the car that I have had for the last couple of months. The girl that let me borrow it has made it home safely from Swazi. Unfortunately she is coming in right as we are leaving, so I will have to wait to really be able to say thank you and hear stories from her trip. Being that I am in training camp not having a car will not greatly affect me… however next week is another story. (I think I am supposed to be helping with a VBS program / outreach for my church on the other side of town… I’m not really sure how I am going to get there or anything else… that’s next Mondays worries.)

So if you could continue to keep me, Jimmy (my boss), Ashley (my co-worker), and all the other staff and participants in your prayers as we continue this week of training that would be awesome! Plus I will now have to figure out what I am going to do about transport. If you could also continue to pray for good sleep for me that would be awesome (I’ve had trouble sleeping since being in GA and I really need my energy right now!).

I’ll try and post pictures and stories from training camp later this week … or next week.
