Update Letter

I finally mailed out my update letter last month. If you would like to receive my newsletters via snail mail please email me your address. Enjoy.

Updates

This
last year with the World Race has been great! Getting to start it off by
launching 100 Racers in New Zealand was amazing!

It’s the end of a wonderful
season. Having been on the World Race, lived in Swaziland, and been in the
office for the last two and half years it’s time to say good-bye.

My
leadership, at AIM, and I mutually agreed that it’s time for me to follow my
passions and to be able to use all of my giftings. Like the end of any season
there is some sadness and grieving that had to happen, yet there is also
excitement for what lays ahead.

Daily Life

Over
Thanksgiving a group of my closest friends and I went on a cruise to the
Caribbean. It was so amazing to not have to check emails or worry about my cell
ringing! We have made a commitment to continue to have intentional
relationships with each other no matter where in the world we are.

I’ve been in the
same apartment for a little over a year, and still love it!  Two of my roommates have moved to
pursue other things in different states. My roommate, Katie and I are praying
for one or two girls to take the empty room in the apartment to help with rent
or for a cheap place to move to.

My
plan is to stay in Gainesville, GA, until I move for a long-term commitment. My
community here is amazing, and I want to be around them as much as possible.

Family

I
was once again blessed to be able to see my family more than I originally
expected. Mom came out to cook for training camps and Krista was even able to
join us for the October camp.

2010
was also a hard year for my family. We had to say goodbye to both of my living
grandmas within two weeks of each other. My grandmas were both wonderful women
who kept our family smiling, and they will continue to be missed.

The fun news is
that my sister, Krista, and her husband are expecting their first child! In just
a couple of weeks little Allison Grace will be here. We are all extremely
excited and can’t wait to meet the newest addition to the family.

Looking Ahead

For
months I’ve been asking the Lord what is next for me. It took up until the very
last minute for me to really start to hear Him calling me to Thailand.

I’ve
decided to fly to Thailand for the month of March to check things out. I will
meet up with several friends and contacts to see if any of the ministries that
they are doing will be a good fit for me long term.
When I return from Thailand I want to live in Georgia while raising support to
move to Thailand.

There are about a thousand
questions regarding moving to Thailand that I still don’t have answers to –
where will I live, what will I do, how much money will I need, etc.   What I do know is that the Lord
very clearly has called me to bigger things than what I’ve been up to lately,
and it’s time to do those bigger things.

Prayer Requests

*    Thailand in March & long term – that everything would fall into
place with who I am to work with, where I shall live, and what ministry I’ll do.

$$   I  need to raise another $1,000 to go towards
my scouting trip to Thailand in March, I currently have enough money to cover
my flight : )

*    That the time between now and when I leave for Thailand in March would
not be wasted. That it would continue to be a time of growth in all areas of my
life.

$$$  With the end goal of moving to Thailand I have a lot of
funds that I’m going to need. AIM is letting me keep my support account open to
receive tax-deductable funds. Will you pray about supporting me monthly?
