After a ton of thought, prayer and talking with those around me I’ve decided to come home early. There really isn’t much happening here at the moment and sitting in an office with nothing to do and then a big empty house just doesn’t sound like fun for the next month or so. I have always been one who hates wasting time or money and this feels like it would be both. I was scheduled to come home in Feb, but just changed my flight to come home earlier (unfortunately for my family here & fortunately for my family there I am flying home Dec 17th!). Don’t worry I talked with both Gary & Lisa Black as well as the head of AIM here in Swazi, Jumbo, and they all agree that it is a good thing to do.

While I am home I will continue to work on Breathe Africa, probably get a part time job (at the very least I will be back in my seasonal position at See’s Candies – I can’t wait to see all of you guys!!), as well as catching up with all my family, friends, supporters, and churches who have been praying for me. If you want to see me or have me come share somewhere please let me know as the last thing I want to do is be sitting at home all day (I could stay in Swazi to do that). I don’t know when I’ll be coming back to Swaziland : ( I need to spend some more time with the Lord and really get some clarity on a few things. Africa tends to do things at a much slower pace, and I’m just not sure if the work that is being done in Swazi needs me quite yet. I’m sad to leave behind all of my AIM friends and family, I’m going to miss them terribly!!! Plus all of the children, gogos and our translator Smah in Nsoko!! A piece of my heart will always be with them, but I know that it is only the Lord who can care for them and he will bring along someone even better to fill my place while I am away.

I’ll keep everyone up to date on what my plans are, and will keep blogging. Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers, support, and encouragement. I know for a fact that I was to be here in Swaziland for the time that I have been, but I am also at real peace with coming home now. Please continue to pray for the work being done here, for the Black family as they continue to adjust to life in Swazi, for my travels, that the Lord will speak clearly, that I will be able to really seek Him while I am home, and that I will not have any problems adjusting to life back home (especially the cold weather! I hate the cold! It’s always the worst part of coming home!! yuck!, plus I will horribly miss going to the fruit and veggie market for fresh cheap produce every couple of days!).

Many Blessings From Africa,

Casey

  1. Hey Casey! Thanks for the upadate and for letting us know your plans and what we can pray for. I know God will make things clear and when to take the next step. Have fun at See’s…don’t eat too much candy 🙂 Miss you tons!

  2. Your room is ready .. and so are our hearts. It will be wonderful to have you home for the holidays!

  3. WOW! I will definitely be praying for you, Casey, as you face some difficult decisions. But God is so faithful to give us the wisdom, direction, and clarity as we need it. I know your family and friends will be ecstatic to have you home for the holidays though I’m sure you’ll be terribly missed in S’land.

I’m going to email you my phone number as I’d love to get to chat with you once you’re back home. You know how Swazi crazy I am and have a million questions running thru my head.

I’ll be praying for you and PLEASE do keep in touch and keep us updated on how to pray.

I know that traditionally the person who is saying goodbye first says SALA KAHLE, but since you’re about to begin a journey of “going”, I’ll send you a BIG, loving HAMBA KAHLE!
